SCA Scores
At Caseta, we choose not to display the SCA score for our coffees.
These scores are assigned to green coffee beans, evaluated in tastings with neutral roasts designed solely to identify defects and origin characteristics.
They don't represent the flavor you'll find in the cup after a different roast, and each roast is a choice: more body, more sweetness, more acidity, more balance.
Displaying a score without this context can be misleading. A coffee with 86 points might seem simple or exceptional, depending on how it's roasted and brewed. The number loses its meaning outside the laboratory.
At Caseta, we prefer to talk about profile, flavor, and aromas, and leave the focus on what really matters: the experience in the cup.
Nevertheless, all the coffees we roast are of specialty quality, with scores above 80 SCA points at the source.
