Our Tanzania begins at Edelweiss Estate, a farm bordering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the north of the country. It's a remote area, surrounded by indigenous forest: it's not uncommon to encounter elephants or buffalo near the plantations, because the farm literally shares its green border with the nature reserve.

The Vohora family of producers has a consistent track record of working with the local community. They support regional schools, have created daycare centers for the children of their workers, offer agricultural training, and maintain various environmental protection projects.

This batch combines Bourbon and Kent and follows a washed process with a pre-fermentation step in airtight tanks for two days. After that, the cherries are destemmed and fermented again, before being thoroughly washed and sun-dried on African beds.

In the cup, the coffee is citrusy, with a relatively balanced acidity and a smooth texture. There's a sweet touch reminiscent of almonds, nuances of malt, all in a clean and well-structured whole.
